Over the weekend my hubby and I decided to take a motorcycle trip. I had to think about it for a few, because I haven’t ridden on the bike for longer than an hr, so I was a bit skeptical. I’m so glad I said yes, because it was AWESOME!
We left Friday evening and drove to Chattanooga. The hour and a half ride was FREEZING (I’ll share below on what to wear). We always stay at the Marriott and eat at the Big River when we are visiting Chattanooga. Yummy food! If you are ever in Chattanooga, I recommend eating at Big River.
On Saturday, after stopping at Cracker Barrel for breakfast (a must),we headed off on our adventure. We rode into the Tennessee Mountains and long side the Ocoee River, stopping several times to take in the beautiful scenery and fall foliage.
Our final stop before heading home, was Blue Ridge Lake. What a cute and quaint town. A must see!
We had a great time and I’m looking forward to the next weekend getaway!
So, you are wondering how to prepare for a weekend motorcycle trip? Well, since the bike is limited on space, you have to learn how to pack light (for 2 people) and fit everything into a backpack. Yes, a backpack!!! Who gets to you carry it, you ask? ME!
What to wear on the motorcycle (especially when it is cold):
- Long Sleeve shirt (preferable heavy in cold weather)
- Leather jacket
- Helmet (Make sure it is DOT certified. Full face helmets are much more safe. Safety always first when riding a motorcycle).
The essentials to pack in a backpack for a weekend motorcycle trip.
- Socks & under garments (2-3 pairs each)
- Shirt (1-2 each)
- Jeans (use the same pair all weekend)
- Toothbrush & toothpaste (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap are available at the hotel).
- Cellphone with charger
Tip: Remember, pack light. You can always get your clothes washed at the hotel.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Remember, planning makes perfect!
